Thinking

I LOVE FANTASY, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.  I get accused of being a nerd.  I especially love it when there are elves and magic and dragons involved in a story.  I especially have always loved Dragonlance Margerat Weis and Tracy Hickman.  Tracy Hickman has always been a favorite author of mine.  His fantasy tales and the worlds he creates are just beautiful.  I have read interviews with him as well and he doesn't sacrifice story or the bottom line and says that yes he created and wrote but it is the reader to makes the world open up.  So when I heard about his most beloved book  The Immortals  I was excited.  I thought wow this is going to be a high fantasy book.

I was wrong.  This book while fiction and is probably considered science fiction, is not fantasy.  In the description he calls it  "A cautionary tale".  It has no magic no dragons and no make believe.  It is not a happily ever after story and it will make you cry.  It is not comfortable.

Saying all that I ..........well I believe we all need to read it.  I loved it and it moved me to tears.  To me it was very poignant and spoke to things we all take for granted like basic human decency.
It made me want to be a better person and helped me to see where I was blind before.

Everyone should try to find a copy and read it if you can't find a copy then to to the podcast section or itunes or http://www.podiobooks.com/ and listen to the podcast that is performed by Tracy Hickman and his Wife Laura Hickman.

The book gave me hope, it showed me no matter how down and out you are somehow something good will come of it, even if the ending isn't happy.
I reminded me that you can't cast stones, and that everyone deserves to be helped and cared for.

So while I will probably never intentionally pick up another book that has social commentary in it, because I like my books to help me escape. I am Grateful that I found this book.

OMJM&C

K...so
Alright truthfully if you have not read the new Christopher Moore book "Bite Me" you would not understand why me saying K....so is funny but well if you want to understand it read it.

K....so
Loren and my mother once again have not figured out dinner.  I am sorry I am not a big cooker type of person.  I hate to cook I like to bake sometimes it is not on my top ten favorite things to do unless I am really craving something and then I bake mainly because I am a better baker then my mother.
I work full time dammit.  They are at home getting teeth pulled or playing video games they could figure out dinner.
The agreement was I would worry about it if and that is a big IF I am home on friday and Saturday Sunday through thursday all up to Mom and Loren.

Is it really too much to ask.  I don't get mad because the bathroom is a mess or the room is a mess or the dishes aren't done.  I just want to know I am going to have food that is good and home made sometimes.
I guess I will have to deal with it since I have to plan everything.

And no one better say they are taking care of Katie because she is one three year old and they are two grown adults they should be able to handle that stress.  Not that she is a stress she is a very good three year old.

LOL

K...so  I am not really upset I just thought it was funny.

In other news my mom got all upset about a Sonny and Cher thing we have is sorted now we both misunderstood each other and other people misunderstood and shouldn't have worried about it but when I was still upset I was talking to my friend Angie at work and I said
"who care about Sonny and Cher he is dead and she is made of plastic"

I told that to my mom and she laughed.

All of you should too Cher even says if the nuclear holocaust happens all that will be left is cockroaches and her.

LOL

Yeah I am in a good mood.

signing off y'all two fingers to the side.............

Saturday in the Park

So yesterday we went to Seattle with Scott.  Okay one I love to spend time with Scott he is hilarious, and smart two I love to spend time with Loren he well he is Loren I don't need to justify, three I love to go to Seattle cause I like the shopping part.  Well went to pike place, yeah um disappointed there just wasn't what I wanted it is a cool place to go and be and look but it was just too crowded and I couldn't hear.  Well then we saw the Hard Rock Cafe went there.  That was cool I replaced my broken keychain so yay but when we got into the actual restaurant well their booths are made for midgets or something because I could not fit neither could Loren or Scott Coley barely fit.  We just got up and left.  We went to Jonny Rockets instead.  (and I must say Hogans in Spokane is better then Jonny Rockets).
Then we just kind of walked around Seattle.  Scott showed up the freeway park.  I didn't know there was a huge park above the freeway.  WE had to walk a lot up hill I do not enjoy that.  Scott ran up stairs once and told Loren he could tell me we had to walk up stairs.
Then it rained.  I love walking in the rain it was great.

Mostly it was great because of the company.  I don't have to be anything other then Karen or Mama with the people I was with.  That is a great gift.  Yeah Scott don't make fun of me for sounding all fluffy or whatever.

All and all it was a great day and I was glad I spent it with who I did.

Blogging

So lately I have been lamenting the loss of my blog on myspace.  I know I am lame, but OMJM&C I used to blog well maybe not a lot but at least once or twice a month.  Then I stopped for awhile because of "issues" and by the time I wanted to write a blog again I had switched to facebook.  So yeah I still have my myspace page but I pretty much only use facebook I maybe check my myspace once every two weeks.  I realized I really missed blogging though.  And yeah Facebook doesn't really have that option.

My blog isn't deep but it can be it isn't necessarily entertaining but it can be.  Mainly I like to write stuff down with the illusion that someone is going to read it sometime.

I will try to make sure that if I abbreviate something I will put the entire phrase at the bottom of each blog so you guys know what I am talking about.  This doesn't guarantee I will tell you why I say it or where I got it from.  However if you like the phrase feel free to shoplift it and use it as your own.  I do not own the words I just picked what order they needed to come out of my mouth or in this case the order I typed them in.

For instance
OMJM&C:  Oh My Jesus Mac & Cheese

if you don't know where I got that from well I am not explaining it because it is kind of long winded to explain.

So anyways hopefully I will keep up on this from now on she I have been whining about it for awhile (mostly to myself though lately to my friend Angie at work).

By the way Thanks Angie because I wouldn't have looked up an alternative blog spot if I hadn't whined to you about it.
Your the best!!!!!!!!!
